EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
ATLANTIC AGRICULTURAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAM INC.

The Atlantic Agricultural Leadership Program Inc. (AALP) is a not-for-profit organization that develops future leaders for Atlantic Canada’s agricultural sector. The two-year program consists of a series of eight seminars and two international study tours.

The Board of Directors is seeking an Executive Director to manage program delivery and fund-raising. The successful candidate will be a proven leader with a passion for leadership development. Working closely with and reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will:

  • Develop agendas, plan logistics and coordinate the delivery of seminars and international study tours
  • Identify, manage and implement fund-raising and revenue strategies, goals and activities to sustain the AALP
  • Manage program recruitment and public relations
  • Manage program finances within budget and provide regular financial statements
  • Manage day-to-day operations in the best interest of the program and its participants.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in agriculture, business or education with a minimum of 10 years of related and progressive work experience. They will possess skills and expertise in the areas of senior management, fund-raising, communication and marketing, program planning and management, and demonstrated knowledge of adult education principles and the issues and forces shaping agriculture in Atlantic Canada. The ability to carry out duties independently with a minimum of supervision is essential.

Working from their own home office in Atlantic Canada, the Executive Director will work under contract an average of 3 days per week. More information about the Atlantic Agricultural Leadership Program can be obtained at www.agleaders.ca.
